Ellis of Tennessee were nominated last night as the 2012 Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates for America’s Party. The America’s Party national convention also ratified its 2012 platform, adding additional private property rights language, and replacing its old pro-life language with the full text of the “Equal Protection for Posterity Resolution.” America’s Party is being built by Reagan pro-life, pro-family, “peace through strength” conservatives who believe that the Republican Party has abandoned the principles of Ronald Reagan -- particularly the Reagan pro-life platform plank which recognizes the personhood of the unborn and their protection by the Fourteenth Amendment. In a statement released this morning at their new campaign website, tomhoefling.com, Hoefling and Ellis made the following comments: “As the 2012 America's Party nominees for President and Vice-President, we are currently seeking one million patriotic, principled, committed Americans -- men and women who understand the critical need for an immediate return to the principles of our nation's founding. Together, let us strive to restore America’s moral, economic, and physical strength, in order to fulfill the ultimate stated purpose of our Constitution: ‘to secure the Blessings of Liberty to our Posterity.’ We have an obligation to our children and grandchildren to take back our political system from the money and media interests, and to put the power back in the hands of We the People. To be inserted between “the Right to Keep and Bear Arms” and “Restoring Limited Government”Sections: Private Property Rights "Private property, the ownership of the means of production by the people, is a cornerstone of American liberty. Without it our free enterprise system, our free markets, and our republican form of self-government cannot endure. Without it, we cannot prosper. That is why we will defend against any trespass against this most basic, cherished, and necessary of our God-given, unalienable rights. That is why we will only pursue policies that will strengthen the economic position of the individual, the family, and the local community.” ----- Replaces 2008 pro-life Platform language: The leaders of America’s Party have publicly pledged that henceforth all governmental policies they endorse will be in complete accord with the principles and purposes stated below. They have also pledged to henceforth offer their endorsement or financial support only to other political leaders and organizations who live up to these principles. The Equal Protection for Posterity Resolution A Resolution affirming vital existing constitutional protections for the unalienable right to life of every innocent person, from the first moment of creation until natural death. WHEREAS, The first stated principle of the United States, in its charter, the Declaration of Independence, is the assertion of the self-evident truth that all men are created equal, and that they are each endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, beginning with the right to life, and that the first purpose of all government is to defend that supreme right; and WHEREAS, The first stated purposes of We the People of the United States in our Constitution are “to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”; and WHEREAS, The United States Constitution, in the Fourteenth Amendment, imperatively requires that all persons within the jurisdictions of all the States be afforded the equal protection of the laws; and WHEREAS, The United States Constitution, in the Fifth and the Fourteenth Amendments, explicitly forbids the taking of the life of any innocent person; and WHEREAS, The practices of abortion and euthanasia violate every clause of the stated purposes of the United States Constitution, and its explicit provisions; and WHEREAS, Modern science has demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that the individual human person’s physical existence begins at the moment of biological inception or creation; and WHEREAS, All executive, legislative and judicial Officers in America, at every level and in every branch, have sworn before God to support the United States Constitution as required by Article VI of that document, and have therefore, because the Constitution explicitly requires it, sworn to protect the life of every innocent person; THEREFORE, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES HEREBY RESOLVE that the God-given, unalienable right to life of every innocent person, from biological inception or creation to natural death, be protected everywhere within every state, territory and jurisdiction of the United States of America; that every officer of the judicial, legislative and executive departments, at every level and in every branch, is required to use all lawful means to protect every innocent life within their jurisdictions; and that we will henceforth deem failure to carry out this supreme sworn duty to be cause for removal from public office via impeachment or recall, or by statutory or electoral means, notwithstanding any law passed by any legislative body within the United States, or the decision of any court, or the decree of any executive officer, at any level of governance, to the contrary. ***** Tom Hoefling re-elected as America's Party Chairman. So far, three names have been approved for inclusion in our presidential nominating process: Kevin Nelson of Massachusetts Wiley Drake of California Tom Hoefling of Iowa The window of opportunity for any America's Party Affiliate to suggest any other the name of any other qualified prospective nominee will remain open throughout this week. However, you need to be sure that whomever you might suggest is walking according to the America's Party principles and purposes spelled out in our Platform, our Affiliation Agreement, and the Leadership Pledge. And, you need to be sure that they are willing to fully participate. Email [email protected] with any thoughts, ideas, or proposals, and the entire Affiliations Committee will get your message. The Date: Saturday, February 18, 2012 The Time: 2:00 pm Eastern The Location: Your Front Porch (or, wherever else you happen to be) We will be convening on the America's Summit conference line, and the proceedings will be recorded and livestreamed on Talkshoe Radio. If you are an America's Party Affiliate in good standing, and a signer of the America's Party Leadership Pledge, let us know if you would like to be considered by the Credentials Committee as a possible Delegate from your state. (As of this writing on Feb. 2nd, a large number of slots have yet to be filled. If you haven't signed the Pledge, please do it NOW!) BYOBASH (Bring Your Own Balloons And Silly Hats!) A couple of important notes: Several possible presidential candidates are being discussed right now. But remember, whomever you might suggest must be endeavoring to live up to the principles and purposes of our Platform, Personal Affiliation Agreement, and the Leadership Pledge. That's not negotiable for any of us, of course. The final slate of candidates will be promulgated throughout the party in about a week or so, and then, during the week leading up to the convention, all Affiliates will be given full access to interview and deeply question each of them. We are also scheduling an extensive presidential debate for the night before the vote. The details of that process are currently being finalized, so stay tuned! The final slate of credentialed Delegates, the proposed Rules, the Agenda, and the final Schedule, along with explicit details about what you will need to do as a Delegate, will be released at least forty-eight hours before we convene. Again, keep an eye on this space. We will try to post regular updates as details become available. Remember, the announcement above may be revised slightly in its content in the days ahead, so bear that in mind and try to reread it once in a while to make sure you don't miss anything important!
